OFF CAMPUS
Manchester, CT (about 25 minutes southwest from campus) is the closest area with many hotels to choose from. Manchester, CT has a large shopping area off of Hale Rd. (Buckland Hills Mall, Target, Walmart, and every other chain you can think of ... as well as a large selection of restaurant chains). There is also a more upscale Evergreen Walk area with shops and restaurants.
Things to do ON CAMPUS
Jorgensen presents 25-30 nationally and internationally acclaimed artists and ensembles annually, ranging from classical music to world music and dance, classical and contemporary dance, comedy, family programming and contemporary entertainment.
UCONN Dairy Bar - on-campus homemade ice cream

Formerly the Creamery, this establishment had been used exclusively for teaching and research for the UCONN College of Agriculture & Natural Sciences. When it transformed into the Creamery, at its peak, the Creamery employed more than 25 full-time employees, grossed over one million dollars per year, and supplied the UConn dormitories and other state agencies with daily deliveries of fluid milk, sour cream, cream cheese and ice cream. Today, the Dairy Bar manufactures ice cream according to its original and highly popular recipe; this delicious product is sold at the UConn Dairy Bar. Over 200,000 customers visit the Dairy Bar annually to enjoy more than 24 flavors.

Case Mountain Trail is a 6.1 mile loop trail that features a lake and is rated as moderate.
